These golden “sunshine” gummies combine bright lemon with warming winter spices—fresh lemon juice, honey, cinnamon, ginger, and turmeric. I worried the bold flavors might be too much for my kids, but they devoured both batches in under two days.
This is a variation on my previous homemade gummy bear recipe, with a tangy, slightly sour profile that I prefer. The spices add warmth and depth, making these a comforting snack or a little pick-me-up.

Ingredients
-
2/3
cup
juice from fresh lemons
about 4 lemons -
3
tbsp
unflavored gelatin -
1/3
cup
honey -
1/4
tsp
ground cinnamon -
1/4
tsp
ground ginger -
1/4
tsp
turmeric - A pinch of black pepper
Instructions
-
In a small saucepan, combine the lemon juice and gelatin. Stir, then let sit for 5 minutes to allow the gelatin to bloom.
-
Place the saucepan over low heat and warm gently, stirring constantly. Do not let it boil. Add the honey, cinnamon, ginger, turmeric, and a pinch of black pepper. Continue stirring until the gelatin dissolves and the mixture becomes smooth and fragrant. Skim off any foam with a spoon.
-
Carefully pour the liquid into silicone gummy molds. If you don’t have molds, pour into a shallow dish and cut into squares after setting. Tap molds lightly to release air bubbles.
-
Let the gummies sit at room temperature for about 15 minutes to start setting, then refrigerate for 1–2 hours until fully firm.
-
Pop the gummies from the molds and store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 7 days.
Recipe Notes
- Black pepper helps increase absorption of turmeric’s active compound, curcumin, making the spices more effective.
- The gummies keep their shape at room temperature but may soften and lose some chewiness over time.
