Reese’s 7 Layer Bars – a seven-layer magic cookie dessert made with Reese’s mini cups, chocolate chips, walnuts, and shredded coconut.
Hello friends! I hope you had a lovely Easter. The kids are wrapping up spring break and we’ve been enjoying slow mornings, simple crafts, and easy recipes. To keep everyone busy we’ve visited local attractions and tried a few new desserts. One favorite we made this week is these Reese’s 7 Layer Magic Bars.

If you haven’t tried 7 layer bars before, they’re exactly what the name promises: seven layers of sweet, gooey goodness. A buttery graham cracker crust is topped with chocolate chips, chopped Reese’s mini cups, chopped walnuts (or pecans), sweetened condensed milk, and shredded coconut. As the bars bake, the condensed milk soaks through the layers, creating a texture partway between a cookie and a blondie. These magic bars are easy to make, endlessly customizable, and absolutely addictive. You can swap the Reese’s for another soft candy if you prefer.

Pin Recipe
Ingredients
- ½ cup unsalted butter
- 1 ½ cups graham cracker crumbs
- ½ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- ½ cup Reese’s mini cups chopped
- ¼ cup peanut butter chips optional
- ½ cup walnuts or pecans chopped
- 1 14 ounce can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 1/3 cups shredded coconut
Instructions
-
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
-
Place the butter in an 8×11 or 9×13-inch baking pan and put the pan in the oven just long enough to melt the butter.
-
Remove the pan from the oven and firmly press the graham cracker crumbs into the melted butter to form an even crust.
-
Layer the chocolate chips, chopped Reese’s cups, and chopped walnuts (or pecans) evenly over the crust.
-
Pour the sweetened condensed milk over the entire pan, spreading it gently so it soaks into the layers.
-
Sprinkle the shredded coconut on top and bake for 25–30 minutes, until the edges are lightly golden and the center is set.

Tip: Line the pan with foil, covering the bottom and sides, before adding the butter. Once cooled, you can lift the entire sheet from the pan for easier cutting and cleaner slices.
