These golden “sunshine” gummies combine bright lemon with warming winter spices—fresh lemon juice, honey, cinnamon, ginger, and turmeric. I worried the bold flavors might be too much for my kids, but they devoured both batches in under two days.

This is a variation on my previous homemade gummy bear recipe, with a tangy, slightly sour profile that I prefer. The spices add warmth and depth, making these a comforting snack or a little pick-me-up.

Ingredients

  • 2/3
    cup
    juice from fresh lemons
    about 4 lemons
  • 3
    tbsp
    unflavored gelatin
  • 1/3
    cup
    honey
  • 1/4
    tsp
    ground cinnamon
  • 1/4
    tsp
    ground ginger
  • 1/4
    tsp
    turmeric
  • A pinch of black pepper

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, combine the lemon juice and gelatin. Stir, then let sit for 5 minutes to allow the gelatin to bloom.
  2. Place the saucepan over low heat and warm gently, stirring constantly. Do not let it boil. Add the honey, cinnamon, ginger, turmeric, and a pinch of black pepper. Continue stirring until the gelatin dissolves and the mixture becomes smooth and fragrant. Skim off any foam with a spoon.
  3. Carefully pour the liquid into silicone gummy molds. If you don’t have molds, pour into a shallow dish and cut into squares after setting. Tap molds lightly to release air bubbles.
  4. Let the gummies sit at room temperature for about 15 minutes to start setting, then refrigerate for 1–2 hours until fully firm.
  5. Pop the gummies from the molds and store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 7 days.

Recipe Notes

  • Black pepper helps increase absorption of turmeric’s active compound, curcumin, making the spices more effective.
  • The gummies keep their shape at room temperature but may soften and lose some chewiness over time.
