Our Frozen Twist on a Classic Cocktail
Frozen cocktails are a summer staple—think frozen daiquiris or pina coladas—but you can freeze nearly any cocktail that benefits from a slushy texture. Today’s version puts a fruity twist on the classic Moscow Mule by turning it into a frozen strawberry cocktail.
When strawberries are in season and abundant, we love using them in cocktails. Beyond simply eating them or baking a crisp, blending them into frozen cocktails like this one brings fresh flavor and vibrant color to the party.

How to Make a Frozen Moscow Mule
One of the best things about frozen cocktails is their simplicity—everything goes in the blender. For this variation we combine frozen strawberries, RumChata, berry-flavored vodka, and a touch of sugar. Taste as you go and adjust sweetness depending on how ripe your berries are.

This cocktail highlights the bright strawberry flavor while RumChata provides a subtle vanilla-cinnamon background instead of turning the drink overly creamy. The berry vodka adds noticeable booziness, so don’t be fooled by the pretty pink color. After blending, finish each drink with a splash of ginger beer for classic mule fizz and spice.

What Is Ginger Beer?
Ginger beer is a carbonated beverage made from ginger, sugar, and water. Historically it could be alcoholic, but most modern ginger beers are nonalcoholic and spicier than ginger ale. If you prefer a traditional, slightly boozier profile, you can choose an alcoholic ginger beer; otherwise, modern nonalcoholic ginger beer, ginger ale, or a berry seltzer will work.
